More candidates, fewer hours: The Selection optimises recruitment at Securitas Technology with RMA

Winning the race together

At Securitas Technology, they have an important mission: to make people and organisations safer through technological innovation. To make this mission a reality, they need the right people. Especially technicians, such as mechanics. To win the race on the challenging labour market, they engaged RPO and interim recruitment specialist De Selectie.

Thom Oudhuis, recruitment marketer at De Selectie, has been working at Securitas Technology for a year now and has implemented and witnessed many changes. He explains: “We’ve defined an employer brand for Securitas Technology (separate from Securitas Netherlands), launched a new careers site, we’re running our own campaigns and we’ve implemented MrWork software. Great strides!”

Best of both worlds: lots of opportunities and efficiency

The Selection has been using talent attraction tooling for recruitment campaigns for some time. Thom also initially deployed this software at Securitas Technology, but he soon ran into limitations. "At Securitas Technology, we run around 6 to 8 vacancy campaigns simultaneously plus a monthly changing employer branding campaign to attract candidates. With this amount of campaigns, I started running into limitations within the tooling we were using before. So I started looking for other options. I first tried setting up campaigns manually on the platforms, but this was so much work. When I came across MrWork, I thought it could help us. And it indeed turned out to be so," Thom said.

"For customers who need an occasional campaign, we still use the other tool. For them, an implementation of MrWork is not interesting (yet). Maybe MrWork will develop something for these types of customers in the future? Meanwhile, we are already working on offering MrWork to other customers - with greater recruitment marketing needs - because it makes our work so much more efficient. And recruiters also see that the quality of applicants goes up," Thom says.

2 days per week saved

"The biggest reason for me to work with MrWork 's RMA software is very clear: saving time. When I was setting up campaigns manually, it took me days. A simple adjustment like changing a URL is a lot of work, because you have to make it for each ad. Setting up A/B tests was also time-consuming. Now multiple images and texts are automatically combined with each other," Thom says.

Thanks to the efficiency gains Thom made with MrWork at Securitas Technology, he was even able to reduce the number of hours he works for this client. Instead of full-time, he now only works for Securitas Technology 3 days a week. He says: "I can now set up multiple campaigns within an hour thanks to the MrWork platform. Job profiles are already linked to ad texts and images, so I only need to check the content, budget and channels before launching the campaign."

Other benefits

Thom is also very happy with the reporting capabilities in MrWork. "Previously, data insight was limited due to fragmented information. With MrWork, it has become much more insightful and I can, for example, more easily bring up the results of A/B tests," he indicates.

The integration between MrWork and the ATS (Recruitee) also reduces hassle. "Thanks to the link with the ATS, MrWork 's RMA software automatically suggests target group and campaign content. An additional advantage is that campaigns automatically stop as soon as a hire is registered in Recruitee. Then you can be sure that a campaign never continues unintentionally," says Thom.

More and better candidates

MrWork 's RMA solution not only benefits Thom, but also his recruitment colleagues at Securitas Technology. Thom says: "A large proportion of our applications come in via the social campaigns we run in MrWork. From the recruiters, I hear that the quality of applicants has gone up. I can't say for sure where this is due to, because a lot has changed in the past year, but I do feel that this is also due to MrWork's deployment. For example, I now have more targeting options and this allows us to reach and activate the target group in a more targeted way." The Selection now achieves an average of 7 to 9 hires per month for Securitas Technology, compared to 2 to 3 per month before.

Besides enthusing candidates through campaigns, De Selectie has also introduced lead generation at Securitas Technology. "The chat is already paying off for us. We've only been using MrWork for six months, but we've already hired 4 people who started a conversation with us via the chat function. It's a very nice way to get in touch with candidates," Thom indicates.

Of course, he keeps an eye on the quality of responses: "With lead generation, you lower the threshold to respond and therefore you get more responses. However, you always have to keep an eye on the quality of the responses, because if it is too low, the follow-up only takes time and does not yield much. It is nice that MrWork offers automations to partly automate candidate contact. For example, we automatically check whether someone speaks the right language and wants to work at Securitas Technology rather than Securitas' security arm. We then automatically link the response to the right recruiter. That saves some more work for our recruiters!"

An equal partner

The goal of De Selectie is to win the competition in the labour market and to do so, they like to work with partners on an equal footing. Thom experiences the cooperation with MrWork as very pleasant: "Other parties, such as job boards and consultants from social media platforms, often push to pump more money into a campaign. At MrWork, they think along to get the most out of campaigns in other ways. MrWork 's revenue model is not aimed at getting clients to spend as much ad budget as possible and therefore they have no interest in pushing us in that direction. To me, that feels like a fine way to work together."

Not surprisingly, at De Selectie they are already busy introducing MrWork to other clients. Thom comments: "I still see great opportunities to start working with MrWork at other clients of ours. It is much more comprehensive and organised than other software, which makes my work a lot easier. We are already talking to several customers and are working together with MrWork's consultants on this. It would be very nice if together we could help more customers in this way."

The next steps

This year, Thom is focusing on talent pools at Securitas Technology. "We are already building talent pools from applicants who do not currently meet the hard requirements, but I would also like to start building talent pools from initial interest. It remains a challenge to keep these candidates warm, but with the automated nurturing campaigns in MrWork, we can continue to interact with this group," says Thom.

Thom also wants to redesign the employer branding campaigns, focusing more on the consideration phase. He also sees great opportunities if MrWork is implemented at other clients of De Selectie: "If we work with MrWork at several clients, you can gather even more insights and make comparisons. Ultimately, you can use these kinds of insights to advise your client even better and get more out of the campaigns. I'm looking forward to that!"
